When it comes to fixing chips, gaps and discolouring in your teeth, composite bonding has become very popular in the past few years. A simpler alternative to veneers, this treatment offers a nicer way of reconstructing or reshaping a tooth, by adding layers of composite resin, to improve your smile.
For this treatment, we first examine your teeth and decide how best to go ahead.
We then roughen the tooth to help with the bonding, and then attach the composite resin to it. As we do this, we will sculpt it to its original appearing, making sure it matches your other teeth and blends in well with your smile. (We will also make sure the colour matches.)
Once the composite is in place, we then harden it with a curing light, and you’re good to go.
Composite bonding is very quick, and we can often do it in one appointment, if it’s for only one tooth or a few. If you require this treatment for more teeth, you can make multiple appointments with us.
Although composite bonding is not as durable as veneers and crowns, you can still take good care of your new teeth as you would your regular ones. Be sure to brush them twice a day, floss between them, and avoid substances that can stain them. For more advice, visit our Oral Hygiene page.
