Air Polishing

A jet wash for your teeth

This treatment is messy, but effective! Air polishing is very useful for removing harmful plaque or unsightly staining from your teeth.
Teeth can often be susceptible to staining from large amounts of:

  • Smoking
  • Tea
  • Coffee
  • Red wine

For stains like these, air polishing is more effective than the usual scale and polish, and a faster alternative to traditional scalers and abrasive pastes. The treatment is gentle and painless, so don’t worry if you have sensitive teeth and gums. It is also suitable for treating children’s teeth.

If you have just had your teeth whitened and are struggling to keep them white, this treatment will help to keep them shiny and stain-free.

How air polishing works

To remove those stains and plaque from your teeth, we spray and clean them with a combination of compressed air, water and fine powder.
We can also use this technique to gently clean underneath the gum line and around any implants and fillings.

Compared with the usual scale and polish treatment, air polishing:

  • Is more effective on stains and plaque
  • Is more comfortable and doesn’t generate heat during treatment
  • Will treat your teeth more gently, without causing surface wear on tooth enamel

Amazing staff and so caring :) reception are wonderful, nursing team brilliant and dentist… Roopa you are a star 🌟 I am so anxious when attending the dentist and the thought of having root canal without sedation was overwhelming. Roopa was very reassuring, calm and understanding with me and she did everything at my pace. I tried a new coping strategy of listening to music on my headphones which helped keep me distracted. Roopa and her team were very thoughtful and gentle, keeping me calm throughout. Thankyou so much to a great team! :) x
